How can I tell if my pet is in pain

How can I tell if my pet is in pain?

Pain can show up in many different ways. If you notice any of these symptoms of pain, it is recommended to schedule an exam with your veterinarian.

  • Limping
  • Excessive licking
  • Hiding
  • Unusual aggressive behavior
  • Slow to move
  • No longer jumping on furniture/in the car
  • Inappetence
  • Increased vocalization
  • Panting
  • Pacing/unable to get comfortable
  • Any other unusual behaviors

Ultimately, you know your pet best. If you feel your pet is uncomfortable, trust your instincts and schedule an exam with your veterinarian.

I unfortunately had to do a " walk-in" with my elderly cat. I filled out the new patient forms on line and was promptly greeted when Chloe and I arrived. We were triaged and fit into the busy schedule in the most timely manner. All the staff were kind, and professional. Each procedure was explained clearly with pricing while also being sensitive to financial restraints. I will be moving all 3 of my elderly pets to this clean efficient practice. I highly recommend Epire Ranch Veterinary Hospital.

Our great Pyrenees got very sick over the weekend, and we came to Empire Ranch for the first time. All I can say is wow, what an amazing staff. MJ was 120lbs and not mobile, so they came to the car to see her. Lauren was amazing with her, and so was the vet. Unfortunately we made the hard call to help her pass with peace and dignity. When we can even fathom a new pet, Empire Ranch will be our new vet. Thank you guys for helping us, and loving her. The sundae was the best thing you could have done, she loved peanut butter.
