The importance of physical examinations

The cornerstone of your pet’s wellness, is a complete physical exam and consultation with you! Our doctors and technicians make every effort to answer any and all questions you may have about current health issues and possible treatment options. Often, we can help prevent diseases entirely, just by ensuring that your pet has received appropriate vaccinations and preventative care. We recommend that healthy adult dogs and cats visit us once a year. Puppies, kittens, senior pets, and pets with health issues or illnesses need more frequent checkups. We recommend baseline blood work for pets over the age of five. Dogs and cats age much faster than people, so significant changes in your pet’s health can happen in a short time. We will work with you to create an individualized wellness program, including a vaccination and prevention protocol customized specifically to your pet and his or her needs based on risk factors, the doctor’s physical examination findings and your input.

Our focus during a well pet exam is on customizing vaccination protocols, discussing weight, evaluating the physical examination and making sure your pet does not have any abnormalities that are of concern. We also use this time to talk about maintenance care like ear cleaning, dental care and dietary issues.

We loved our experience at this new veterinary office! The entire facility is extremely clean. We received a friendly greeting from the staff when we arrived. Check-in was a breeze. We did not wait long to get into a room or see our doctor. The veterinary technician and doctor were very friendly, very professional, and our cat was very comfortable with the staff during the examination. They are extremely knowledgeable, and you can tell they cared about our pet's well-being. They also take all the time you need to answer any and all questions and explain anything so that you understand the process and treatment options. Prices are reasonable. The experience from top to bottom was great! This will be our new veterinary office going forward.

I couldn't be more pleased with our visit! The facility itself is spacious, super clean, and welcoming. Every person we interacted with made us feel special and valued and Dr. Miller took her time explaining what was going on with our sweet pup and gave us a range of treatment options.

We've found a new home for our veterinary care!

My sweet dog Missy injured her back leg and Empire staff quickly gave us a same day appointment with Dr. Kurth.
I was so impressed with how Dr. Kurth was so thorough and gentle with Missy.
During the examination, D. Kurth explained in detail Missy’s condition and the treatments option is layman’s terms.
I will definitely bring my animals here again.
5 Star recommendation!

We visited Empire Ranch Veterinary hospital 2 days ago with an urgent issue with our dog. I called to confirm that they could see him asap and when I headed down they were able to see us really quickly. Which was great as our dog had an emergency level temperature. They took him immediately, got him cooled, talked to us throughout the process. The team ran tests quickly and was able to get our dog healthy again right away. Everyone was so kind and so patient and really willing to explain what was happening and what each next step meant.

With emergency dog situations, I couldn't have asked for a better, kinder experience. We will 100% be going back for all our vet needs. Thank you!
